Once you have been invited to submit a full proposal and have been told that a recommendation on your behalf will be presented to the Foundation’s board of directors, the next question is, "How does the approval process work?" Below is a simple list to answer this question.
Board meetings [2008: March 17, July 21, November 17]
[2009: March 30, July 20, November 16]
- Within 1-2 days following the board meeting, we will contact each organization presented on the board docket to advise whether or not your proposal was approved.
- An award letter will be mailed to each applicant whose recommendation was approved, advising the conditions of the grant. This letter can take a week or so to be mailed, because of the approval and signature process.
- After the letter is mailed, the new grant is filed pending receipt from you of the signed copy of the award letter accepting the terms of the grant. Please save copies of the signed letter and the attached reporting requirements.
- When the signed award letter is received by the Foundation, barring any holds placed for reporting requirements or closure of other grants, the payment process is put in motion and a check is mailed within thirty days, or as stated in the award letter.
