Providing the public with California education policy news and data

EdSource sits at the center of the Education Program's strategies to improve the quality of information available to California about the status of public education. It occupies a unique place in California's education information ecosystem by providing a platform for disseminating  education  research to all Californians, thus adding value to the education research dollars we provide to other California education research organizations.

EdSource serves as a first-stop clearinghouse for independent information on California public education policy issues.  Its strength lies in clarifying and communicating complex issues to a broad audience of policymakers, researchers, educators, the media, parents, and the general public. Each year, EdSource develops reports, fact sheets, issue briefs and parent guides on California's most important public education policy issues and events. It also hosts annual forums in Northern and Southern California on current school reform issues.
