Hewlett Grantees Honored as Tech Award Laureates

The Tech Museum Awards announced two Hewlett Foundation OER grantees as 2006 Tech Award Laureates --  Internet Archive and Rice University Connexions.  Internet Archive was the overall winner in the Education category for harnessing technology to save digital knowledge now and for future generations. Last year MIT OCW was the winner of the overall education award.  Previously our grantee Equal Access was the winner. This makes four total Hewlett grantee winners of the Laureate Awards in the Education categories over the past years.

The Tech Museum Awards, presented by Applied Materials, Inc., honored 25 Laureates from around the globe for their technological innovations benefiting humanity. This year's Laureates were selected from 280 applications from 58 countries by international panels of judges led by Santa Clara University's Center for Science, Technology and Society. Projects are being implemented in over 105 countries worldwide.  Click here for more on The Tech Award Laureates.
