Arts Education Literature Review and Bay Area Funding Scan

The Performing Arts Program of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation recently completed a review of its arts education funding and exploration of options for future funding conducted by Blueprint Research & Design, Inc. Because we believe some of the materials resulting from this review may be of use to the field, we are making public the Literature Review and Funding Scan portions of the report. The Literature Review is a review of literature (within the last ten years) on arts education for ages pre-K-12th grade, with an emphasis on performing arts. Accompanying the Review is a Literature Review Reference List. The Funding Scan identifies the major foundation and government funders of arts education in the eleven-county Bay Area region where the Hewlett Foundation makes grants.
