Kevin Bohrer
Program Officer, Global Development and Population Program

Kevin Bohrer is an officer for the Global Development and Population Program, overseeing elements of the Foundation’s Transparency and Accountability portfolio. Before joining the Foundation in 2008, Kevin spent five years in Kenya as a USAID foreign service officer promoting good governance and increased transparency and accountability in the use of public resources. In Kenya, Kevin managed a grantmaking program to support local NGOs engaged in advocacy and watchdog activities, and he coordinated the Millennium Challenge Account Threshold Program. Prior to working in Kenya, Kevin was a civil society specialist in USAID/Washington's Africa Bureau. Earlier in his career, he also conducted extensive research on refugee issues in Guinea, worked with the Land Tenure Center on natural resources management and property rights issues throughout Africa, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mauritania. Kevin holds a B.S. in foreign service from Georgetown University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
