Overview
Launched in 1990, The Tech Museum of Innovation ("The Tech") is an interactive science and technology center in downtown San Jose, California. The mission of the Institute is to equip young people – especially those who are at risk — to succeed in the 21st century. Through programs such as The Tech Challenge, an annual team design competition for youth, and The Tech Awards, which honors people doing work to benefit humanity, The Tech "celebrates the present and encourages the development of innovative technology for a more promising future." This grant would support The Tech's ongoing work, as well as development of a new Design Challenge Learning Institute, where The Tech’s experts will provide professional development for educators serving students in low-income communities.
