United Nations Foundation

For The Global Partnership For Sustainable Development Data

Overview
The United Nations Foundation serves as the institutional host of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data, which brings together government, private-sector, civil society, and international institutions to harness new and traditional sources of data to better understand and address development challenges. This grant will support the implementation of the partnership’s strategic plan with the following goals: (a) the scaling of new technologies, data sources, and methods, building on existing systems to improve government decision making; (b) fostering a global movement of political, business, and civil society leaders to promote responsible data use by governments and public trust in this use; and (c) bringing to scale the use of timely and robust data for Sustainable Development Goals monitoring. This grant supports the Evidence-Informed Policymaking strategy goal that governments in East and West Africa make better use of data to improve decision making and outcomes for people. for the U.S. Climate Alliance
The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of governors representing 24 states, with more than 60% of U.S. GDP, 55% of the U.S. population, and 40% of U.S. emissions. These governors are committed to driving the nation’s ambitious climate agenda by working in partnership with each other, the federal government, and the international community. The alliance has an important role to play in implementation of federal climate investment laws by supporting state engagement with federal agencies, supporting the development of state decarbonization plans, and supporting effective deployment of federal dollars to drive decarbonization and community economic development.
