Review of Education Programs Supporting Deeper Learning

Final Report

Apr 01, 2013

The Hewlett Foundation’s “Deeper Learning” focus is aimed at ensuring that all students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or underserved communities, have access to the kind of integrated, collaborative learning experiences that will allow them to gain these essential skills. Deeper Learning will help prepare students by giving them the knowledge and skills they need to succeed – and continue to learn – in postsecondary education and in their careers.

Effective curricula, tools, and other resources that promote Deeper Learning are not currently in use in or available to all classrooms. In order to successfully promote Deeper Learning, promising resources must be identified and evaluated, and the challenges to their use and gaps in their availability understood.

For this project, WestEd proposed to conduct an analysis of current curricula and programs that support Deeper Learning by creating a program scoring matrix and identifying and reviewing current and curricula programs
