Grants to this Grantee
for analysis, forums, and dissemination of research and models of policy innovation
Jobs for the Future develops programs and advances public policies that increase college readiness and career success to build a more highly skilled, competitive workforce, and it provides the policy community with tools to understand and adopt evidence-based education reform. The organization will support schools, districts, and communities in the state of Virginia to consider innovative local and statewide student assessment systems and build communications capacity among state advocates for deeper learning. The state, which is planning to implement innovative assessments over several years, will benefit from strong engagement and authentic discussion among and between local educators, schools, and districts.
for a research-practice partnership to test theories of diffusion and scaled impact
Jobs for the Future is a national nonprofit that builds educational and economic opportunity for underserved populations in the United States. With this new grant, the nonprofit will work with 15 New Hampshire school districts to adopt assessments that call for students to perform a task as a means to measure their deeper learning behaviors. This work, which partners researchers and practitioners, will benefit school districts by presenting an approach that can be readily adopted in other states and by introducing new theory about the spread of innovative practices.
